The Genome Assembly of Weedy Rice from East China
![]() |
Weedy rice (Oryza spp.) is a problematic paddy weed threatening rice production yields. Recently, many present-day Asian weed strains are evidenced to have originated from a handful of Green Revolution cultivars of the late 20th century. We investigated the genomic data of recently feralized weedy rice from East China (EastCN-WR) derived from Nanjing11 cultivar, and found landrace introgression and new mutations conferred the recent feralization of weedy rice in East China.
